Inclusion Officer - Partnership Board
Part-time 18.5 hrs per week
£25,750 (pro-rata 37 hrs) + 5% pension
Initially funded until March 2013 – extended depending on funding.
Bromley Mencap is an independent, award winning charity providing services for disabled people, families and carers.
The Inclusion Officer has responsibility for co-ordinating how people with a learning disability are consulted, influence statutory policy and contribute to Partnership Board meetings. With the help of 2 Consultants you will lead on inclusive consultation and support accessible information and presentations.
You need to have a good understanding of inclusion and equality issues. You will have experience of working with disabled people and preferably facilitating groups along with excellent communication skills.
You will be required to work flexibly and be able to travel independently around the borough.

Newsletter Editor – Voluntary
We urgently require a new Editor for our newsletter. The newsletter is packed full of interesting articles for disabled people, carers and families. We are looking for a professional design to appeal to a wide audience including our members and funders.
Our staff contribute most of the articles and as Editor you will pull them all together in one issue. You can also attend our events and activities to write articles and take photos if you wish.
The newsletter is produced every 2 months, runs to around 20 pages and is sent to nearly 2,000 people. It is also available on our website for you to see the style and content. The latest issues can be read here:
If you have experience of designing a newsletter, desktop publishing and proofreading then come and join us!
The time commitment is approximately 1 day per month and you can work at home or at the office at times to suit. Support and out of pocket expenses are provided. Please note we are looking for someone who can give a long term commitment.

Honorary Treasurer – Voluntary

Bromley Mencap is an award winning, independent charity and company limited by guarantee which provides services and activities for disabled people, their families and carers. Our services include a training and employment scheme, childminding and support for older and mutual carers. We are user-led, campaign for equality and represent the views of disabled people and carers.
After 8 years our Treasurer is leaving us and we are recruiting to the vacancy. As a trustee and director your strategic financial skills and commitment to disability will help this dynamic social care charity sustain growth and excellence. You will work closely with the Finance Officer, chair the quarterly Finance & General Purposes Sub-committee and advise the Board, which meets every 2 months, on all finance related matters.
Trustees’ expenses are paid and the role offers full induction with further training and networking opportunities.
