Bromley Mencap, an independent organisation providing services and activities for disabled people, families and carers is a finalist in the inaugural 2014 National Learning Disabilities Awards.
Bromley Mencap’s Mutual Carers Service is a finalist in the Supporting Older People with Learning Disabilities Award category. The National Learning Disabilities Awards are a celebration of excellence across the learning disability and autism sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice and pay tribute to outstanding excellence. The winners will be announced at a gala evening at Edgbaston Stadium Cricket Ground on 16th May.
This is the fourth year in a row Bromley Mencap has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award. In 2011 Bromley Mencap won the Guardian Public Services Award for Carers, Families and Communities. In 2012 Bromley Mencap was shortlisted for a Children & Young People Now Award. In 2013 Bromley Mencap was a finalist in the Charity Times Awards and in 2013 Bromley Mencap won the intu Property Chairman’s Corporate Social Responsibility Prize.
