Bromley Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum received over 500 toys for distribution to its member organisations from The Widows Sons South East, a masonic bikers association on 12th December.  Over 30 bikers, dressed in Santa Suits, roared up to Bromley & Downham Youth Club to deliver toys for needy children and young people across Bromley Borough.

Judy Kimmins, the Forum’s Development Officer, said that they welcomed the opportunity to support their member organisations and it was amazing to see the amount of toys donated.  Seven member groups attended the event including Bromley Mencap, Bromley Women’s Aid,  Crystal Palace Community Development Trust, CASPA, Young Carers, Bromley Gypsy Traveller Project, St Edward’s Mottingham and Bromley & Downham Youth Club.  Cash donations were also received and these were used to purchase toys from Argos in the Mall, Bromley. Argos kindly donated further toys. The appeal was launched through the major masonic halls in Kent to collect toys via donations in wheelie bins. The bikers loaded the toys in a van at Oakley House in Bromley and were greeted by the Grand Master before departing for Bromley & Downham Youth Club.

Thank you to Bromley & Downham Youth Club  for hosting the event and providing tea and coffee for the bikers.
