Independent Living Inquiry

The Joint Committee for Human Rights is currently holding an inquiry into the right to independent living for people with a learning disability and Royal Mencap will respond to this consultation.

In order to make sure that we truly represent the views of people with a learning disability, we would like to hear from you. Click on this link which will download a Word document to your computer.  The document has some questions. You don’t have to answer them all – just let us know what you think. We will then aim to include your views in our response.

You can email your response to Royal Mencap. The deadline for your responses to Mencap is 1 April 2011.

Your can also contact the Committee directly with your comments. Click here to find out how.

The questions are the same as ours and we are sure they would very much like to hear from you directly. The deadline for comments directly to the Committee is 29th April 2011.
