Bromley Council has announced that the proposed charges for Blue Badge holders in council-run car parks will not go ahead. The decision follows the identification of significant savings in the council’s 2025/26 budget.
Councillor Nicholas Bennett cited an improved financial outlook as the reason for scrapping the proposal, despite ongoing budget pressures.
As a disability charity, we strongly opposed these charges, which would have placed additional barriers on disabled people. This outcome is a huge relief for the community, protecting accessibility and independence for Blue Badge holders.
