Learning Disability Carers Forum

The Bromley Learning Disability Parent and Carers Forum is open to all carers of people with learning disabilities in Bromley. It is carer-led, with administrative support provided by Bromley Mencap.   If you would like more information or to join the forum, please email us.

The forum is for Parents and Carers to feed into Learning Disability policy and practice in the Borough. Bromley Mencap chairs and facilitates meeting for the London Borough of Bromley Learning Disabilities Partnership Board. This board is attended by the commissioners for Adult Social Care, giving you a direct line to decision-makers at Bromley Council. We’re keen to welcome new members – Come and make your voice heard!

The purpose of the Learning Disability Carers Forum is to:

• Involve carers, from different backgrounds, in planning and decision making.
• Enable discussion, consultation, and networking with carers in the delivery of the ‘Carer Support’ strand of the Bromley Learning Disability Strategy (The Big Plan)
• Share information about national and local policy, service development, and service quality initiatives.
• Help to ensure that all services (targeted and universal) provide equality of access and choice.
