Co-production

Perdie Brown and Sushma Raval make up our Co-Production Team.

Co-production replaces what we previously called User Involvement. It’s more than consultation—it’s about equality and power-sharing, where people who use services work alongside us to make decisions.

Here is our easy read Co-Production Strategy (2025–2028) that outlines how we’ll embed co-production throughout Bromley Mencap. This includes working with local partners such as Bromley Council’s Adult Social Care Team and the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board to promote better care and outcomes for disabled people in our community.

We’re now inviting members, families, and carers to get involved – There will be many more opportunities to shape services and influence how the organisation is run.

More about Co-production

We aim to embed co-production at all levels within the organisation, therefore all our services are designed, developed, delivered, monitored, and evaluated with the involvement of disabled people, families, and carers.

There are a number of ways to get involved, you can:

  • Support the recruitment & selection of staff: being involved in every stage of the process, for example sitting on interview panels.
  • Help to induct new staff to the organisation, by helping to develop training packages
  • Carry out monitoring and auditing of Bromley Mencap ensuring good quality services are being delivered
  • Attend Focus Groups: providing you an opportunity to be consulted with a wide range of issues and developments relevant to disabled people. Ensuring your views are fed into health and social care providers and decision-makers
  • Review and support the development of Bromley Mencap’s policies
