Lewisham Clubs and Activities
In 2026, Bromley Mencap and Lewisham Mencap officially merged, bringing together two local charities with a shared commitment to supporting disabled people, carers and families.
Our shared aim is to build a more inclusive future for disabled people, carers and families across Bromley and Lewisham. For now, our services will continue to operate as usual, while we bring our joined knowledge and experience into one organisation.
About Lewisham Mencap
Lewisham Mencap was part of the local community for more than 70 years, supporting people with learning disabilities, their families and carers. Through its clubs and activities, Lewisham Mencap helped people build friendships, enjoy social opportunities, feel included and take part in community life.
What’s on offer in Lewisham?
We offer weekly social clubs including themed sessions, monthly drama workshops by Teatro Vivo, Saturday discos, trips to the coast and days out in the community. Our dedicated team of volunteers supports more than 250 members each week.
Members are encouraged to share ideas and help shape activities, events and future plans.
We also work with local organisations, including the NHS, the local council and other charities, to help improve access to information, support and services for our members.
Information and advice
We also offer Information and Advice appointments every Thursday from 10am–3pm at the Leemore Centre.
Hannah can provide guidance and support with a range of topics, including health, letters and correspondence, filling in forms, applications and more.
To book an appointment, call Hannah on 07889 934 969 on a Monday or Friday, or email hannah.blake-williams@bromleymencap.org
Join our activities and events
We run some of Lewisham’s largest events for people with a learning disability and their support networks.
Our weekly clubs offer a mix of music, dancing, games, refreshments, creative activities, workshops and time to relax and catch up with friends.
Both our venues, The Leemore Centre and St Augustine’s Church, have step-free access and accessible toilets.
