Our Strategy
We’re thrilled to introduce our 2025-2028 Strategy, shaped by the voices of the people we support, their families, and our dedicated staff. Over the next three years, we’ll focus on:
✅ Social Inclusion – Expanding activities and reducing isolation.
✅ Employment & Training – Creating pathways to independence and careers.
✅ Community Connections – Building networks through a central hub and outreach.
✅ Campaigning – Advocating for fairness and inclusion in all aspects of life.
Together, we’ll empower independence, strengthen connections, and create opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
Goal One: Social Inclusion

That’s why Social Inclusion is a key priority in Bromley Mencap’s 2025–2028 strategy.
Over the next 3 years, we’re:
Expanding evening & weekend activities
Creating more social opportunities
Growing sports & wellbeing programmes
Developing short breaks & respite for families
Partnering with local groups for inclusive community events
Our aim? To reduce isolation, build friendships, and ensure disabled people feel valued, included & supported—every step of the way.Feeling connected is vital for wellbeing—but many disabled people still face loneliness and isolation.

Goal Two: Employment & Training
Everyone deserves a fair shot at a fulfilling career. But for many disabled people, barriers to employment still exist. That’s why Employment & Training is a key focus of our 2025–2028 strategy at Bromley Mencap.
Over the next 3 years, we’re:
✅ Launching new accredited learning programmes
✅ Growing our Supported Internship Programme
✅ Expanding training for young people with SEND
✅ Supporting micro & social enterprise pathways
✅ Advancing digital inclusion across all services
With the right support and opportunities, we’re empowering disabled people to build skills, confidence & independence—and take the next step into employment.
Goal Three: Community Connections
Bromley Mencap is proud to put Community Connections at the heart of our 2025–2028 Strategy.
Over the next three years, we’ll create a fully accessible Central Hub, strengthen local partnerships, and expand outreach to ensure that no one is left behind.
Our goal? To build a welcoming, inclusive community where disabled people and their families feel supported, valued, and connected.

Goal Four: Campaigning
Campaigning for Change
At Bromley Mencap, we’re standing up for fairness, inclusion, and the voices of disabled people and their families.
Through community outreach, policy engagement, and sharing lived experience, we’re working with partners to influence real change.
Most recently, we responded to the government consultation on proposed welfare benefit cuts — with a response co-produced with disabled people, ensuring their voices were front and centre.
