Day Opportunities services complete 75 laps for Bromley Mencap’s anniversary appeal

Jun 17, 2026

People from The Lodge and our Day Opportunities services came together on Tuesday 16 June for a special 75th anniversary walk around Norman Park.

As part of the challenge, participants worked together to complete 75 laps of the park between them, marking Bromley Mencap’s 75th anniversary year with a day of activity, inclusion and community.

The event also included garden games, refreshments and a bake sale, with cakes kindly made by Eden Park Day Opportunities.

Thanks to everyone who took part, donated and supported the day, the event raised a fantastic £440.86 for Bromley Mencap’s 75th anniversary appeal. The money raised will help support Family Futures, our wellbeing service for disabled and neurodivergent children, young people and their families.

Taking place during Learning Disability Week, the walk was also a chance to recognise this year’s theme, “Do you see me?” – a reminder of the importance of people with a learning disability being seen, heard, included and valued in their communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
